I have another tumblr (http://omgaga.tumblr.com) for personal use, but I wanted to create a golf-specific blog on tumblr as well.

My name is Alison and I’m 22 years old.  I started playing golf when I was 4 years old with my dad.  I began playing junior tournaments at age 12 in the IJGA (Illinois Junior Golf Association) and was the #2 player on the varsity girls’ team as a freshman in high school.  My senior year I won the Regional tournament (shot my then low score of 77) and was named my team’s MVP.  I was recruited by several Division II and III schools my senior year of high school and I knew golf was something I wanted to continue to do in college.

I went to college at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA.  My first year was the inaugural season for the women’s team.  We were a terror on the east coast and ended up winning 4 out of 6 tournaments that first fall and another 3 tournaments in the spring, earning one of ten bids (voted on by the NCGA) to the National Championships in May 2006.  We continued to recruit excellent players and began a tradition at Allegheny.  I was the 2006-2007 Player of the Year, the first in the school’s history for women and my senior year was named co-captain.  I participated in the NCAA National Championships a total of 3 times in college and those continue to be my fondest memories of my college experience.

Since age 18 I’ve been working for a golf academy as one of the lead instructors for kids and adults alike.  I’m able to give lessons or pointers, message me if you’re interested.

I’m hoping this blog will serve as a means to discuss golfing news (as well as any big sports-related topics) and to talk about some stories from my past experiences as well.
